I really am imprssed to what youve have done to that ghia. It amwazed me when i first saw it, it looked better that a new viper or other hot rod. It really shows how much spirit is still in vws. Ive been looking for a ghia for sometime now and from what ive seen done to the car on the site, i would consider doing the custom work on one myself.

I saw the most incredible, white, convertible Ghia whizz past me today with a for sale sign in the window in La Jolla, Ca. I raced after, but had no luck. If anyone knows the driver of this beautiful Ghia, I have been looking for one just like it for some time aand can't believe it just drove past me today. Please reply email if anyone knows anything about this car and how to get a hold of the owner.

Hi John, found your website, impressive to say the least! this is John from Canada, I see you at Puyallup and Seattle shows and always stop to talk to you and your lovely wife, I'm the cheap guy who buys little bits off you, bought a 58 ivory steering wheel off you last show. Glad to hear you sold your blue ghia, hope you got a good dollar for it. I still got misc parts for ghias but I've found a 67 convert that might work out for a purchase project but I have to sell my 65 bug convertible first. Hopefully I'll see you at Puyallup in the spring and I'll stop by and hassle you for a good deal. I've got some 58 ghia parts if anybody needs some stuff. Thanks for letting me ramble, John.

The hydraulic system you were trying to develope has already been designed and patented by Rayvern Hydraulics here in the UK, it uses a short ram to push the sway-a-way beam adjuster around, therefore leaving the torion bars and shocks untouched giving full suspension characteristics whether lifted or dropped. You can get in touch with them via their website http://www.rayvernhydraulics.com for more information. The Ghia looked Awesome.

Hi there, Great sight, I have a 68 Ghia in really pretty good shape. I put a new motor in and am in process of painting her now. (gloss black) I have had many VW's and one other Ghia, but the other one was unfortunatly beyond salvage. (she had lost her soul, you long time VW owners know what I mean) Anyway, a bit of info on the power plants. When you get a new motor or a really good one, I have found that synthetic oil is the most supreme improvement you can do to the heart of the machine. I have worked aviation most of my life and I have had the best luck with Exxon 2380 turbo engine oil. It cost (used to) $14 a quart. Now that I am away from aviation and have to buy it I use Mobil 1 becuase I can get it anywhere and it only cost about $4 a quart. I have gotten well over 100 thousand trouble free miles from using this oil and one old bus with flowers painted all over it was well into it's 2nd 100 thousand when I traded it for a travel trailer. Bye, keep on truckin' KMD

I think it's really impressive to what you have done to improve the shape of the Karmann Ghia. I have never seen one with so much time and creativity put into the one I just saw. The wide fenders really bring out the shape. I like it so much I think i'm going to get another one just to customize it! If you make hood scoops for the rear deck lid...i'd be more than happy to buy one of those. Well, keep up the good work!

Just been told about your site, we live in the South East Corner of England. Bought a Californian import to UK ghia in September - 1974. Good general condition but has some rust in the panel behind front seats, where older models would have had back seat ! This seems to be the only panel that is not made. The comparative panel for a Beetle is called a 'boot floor' in UK, or luggage compartment. Any suggestions ? We have been told we could adapt the Beetle panel by some people in the UK, but others say we can't. Any advice, particularly if you know someone in the U.K. or France where we could access this part.

John, Just wondering with your full size front and rear flares installed on a Karmann Ghia approximately how wide of a wheel and tire combo could you fit underneath the fenders w/ flares on. Using your previous Ghia as an example w/ "Centerline Wheels" on what type of backspacing & rim width(s) did you go with front and back.

Your page is encouraging. I have a 59 ghia vert to sell. It has a fiberglass front end, no motor, a little rust and no interior. Includes several boxes of parts. 1500.00. I'm selling the 59 so I can customize my 67 ghia. It's been modified already to run on a chevy v-8 or v-6 (I,m not sure which yet). When I get the motor figured out I'll be contacting for the headlight buckets and metal, someone cut mine out. Thanks for letting me know there are other customizers and not just purists out there!

Hey John, I would like to thank you again for your fine 4" steel nose repair section. And I will see you up in Seattle in July. For those of you that went to the Sacramento Bug-O-Rama on the Memorial Day weekend, I had my burgandy KG in the participant carshow section with a primered nose. Any of you going to the VW Classic weekend down in Irvine, I will have my KG in the carshow area again with the primered nose, if you are interested how the 4" nose repair section looks like. By mid-July, for the Gene Berg Memorial National Cruise to Seattle, my KG would have the bodywork/paint completed by then. I sold an entire car and $5500.00 in parts for about $2000. It was a project I had been working on for 5 years, but then I got divorced and was hurtin' for cash.
